Do you remember doing your driving lessons? Do you remember
the dreaded theory test? Well, somehow we all managed to pass because here we
are!
It has been announced today that the price of diving theory
tests will be lowered by £6. It will then be lowered again by £2 in 2015.
The current price of a driving theory test is £31. The price will therefore fall to £25 and then drop again to £23 in 2015. Fees for motorcycles
and other vehicles categories will also be subject to a price cut!
Stephen Hammond (transport minister) said these cuts will save
learning drivers “around (£)9 million annually”. An impressive figure we think!
The change in price has been bought about after the signing of a new contract for the delivery of theory test. The new contract has secured cost savings and these savings are going to be passed on the public (Alastair Peoples; chief executive of Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency).
